Americanclaiminstitute.com is owned by Massey Publishing, LLC; an internet web publishing company with internet sites relating to the insurance claim industry and RV travel industry. In addition to
owning and managing websites, the company is also publishing E-Books associated with insurance claims and RV travel industry. Creating a website to offer original produced materials to train new
independent catastrophe adjusters was the idea of a veteran insurance adjuster, Trent Massey.
Some may call this website destiny, though, as on the same date of Trent’s birth 42 years ago, the feature cover story on Life® magazine was the Alaska Earthquake which devastated that state in 1964.
It’s only ironic and fitting that for almost half of his life, he has made helping victims of catastrophes his life’s work.
A son of an insurance agent, Trent began his career in the industry two weeks after graduating with a B.B.A. degree from the University of North Texas in 1986. His first claim position was an entry
level property adjuster for State Farm® Insurance. Within two years of his hire date, he was the senior ranking adjuster in his office and given responsibility over many complex first and third party
claims. He was also deployed to many catastrophe cites as both adjuster and storm supervisor while with the company. He had the highest claim settlement discretionary authority granted adjusters, and
he was assigned to the company’s special arson/fraud claim unit. He is a veteran of many State Farm® catastrophe locations including Hurricane Andrew in Florida during 1992.
In 1993, he resigned from the insurer and created a fire/water reconstruction company with no prior experience and very little capital. For five years, he operated and managed its first projects of simple
bathroom repairs to large and challenging fire losses. In 1995, his company was very active rebuilding storm damage left over by the May 5, 1995 hailstorm which devastated Fort Worth, Texas. Known as
the “Mayfest” storm, it left over $1 Billion dollars of damage in the region.
In 1998, he left construction to pursue attending law school full time. As an accident, he stumbled back into adjusting for what was supposed to be a temporary assignment as an independent catastrophe
adjuster in order to help finance law school. However, he quickly learned that being a former corporate trained staff adjuster and general contractor that specialized in insurance reconstruction was
truly unique in the independent catastrophe adjusting field. As a result, he decided to turn a temporary assignment into a full time career. For the last 8 years he has handled catastrophe claims for
some of the largest insurance companies in the country. Today, he still works as an independent catastrophe adjuster handling claims – one at a time.
Throughout his twenty year service to the industry, either as a staff adjuster, independent adjuster, or contractor, he has always tried to provide the highest customer service to each homeowner.
Trent sums up his feelings best saying, “I am very grateful to those who helped me get started early in my career. I have learned that everyone and everything matters. What might not have seemed
relevant just may prove to have importance later in your life, even if you did not realize it at the time. I have learned to never throw anything away, especially not values gained from hard lessons.
I want to thank anyone who has bought my E-book as your purchase tells me you are committed to becoming a true professional in this business. We need more dedicated adjusters
serving the policyholders and anytime I can help return the favor – never hesitate to write or email me”.
